Brianna Speight is an emerging artist based in Tarntanya/Adelaide, South Australia. She works primarily with photography and is interested in gender issues, critical theory and history.
Brianna completed completed a Bachelor of Visual Art specialising in Photography (2016) and Bachelor of Visual Art & Design Honours (2017) at the University of South Australia, Adelaide.
In 2022 Brianna is undertaking a 3-month residency at the British School in Rome from April - June, an awarded position supported by Helpmann Academy. 2021 saw inclusion in Adelaide X at POP Gallery; HEATWAVE at West Gallery; a Mentorship with Eleanor Scicchitano; and a short residency at POP Studios. Since graduating with Honours in 2017, she has actively participated in opportunities to develop her practice-led and experimental photographic practice including collaborations, residencies (Carclew, Chapel Hill, Sauerbier House); the Guildhouse Catapult mentorship; group and solo exhibitions; workshops and grants to support projects. When away from the studio Brianna works at Flinders University Museum of Art and was until recently a Co-Director at FELTspace ARI.
