Brianna Speight is an emerging artist working between Naarm/Melbourne and Tarntanya/Adelaide. Her practice is photo-based and sculptural, and she is interested in power dynamics, feminism and ecological restoration.
Her photographic works often see soft textile surfaces interacting with the body and various objects suspended in compositions emerging from staging techniques and photomontage. She completed a Bachelor of Visual Art specialising in Photography (2016) and Bachelor of Visual Art & Design Honours (2017) at the University of South Australia, Adelaide.
In 2024, Brianna relocated to Naarm/Melbourne after completing the inaugural Fringe studio residency at fab workshop and presenting the exhibition 'Soft Fascinations'. In 2023, her solo exhibition So Remember the Liquid Ground showed at POP Gallery; in 2022 Brianna completed a 3-month residency at the British School in Rome from April - June, an awarded position supported by Helpmann Academy. When away from the studio Brianna produces communications materials for Monash University Museum of Art.
